St. John’s Wort, ‘Sunburst’ Hypericum frondosum

A fast-growing, mid-summer/early fall flowering mounded shrub with golden-yellow blooms. This variety is more compact than other species with larger blooms. Deciduous and evergreen in warmer climates. Growing almost anywhere, works especially well on banks and slopes. May be short-lived in Texas; try Hypericum beanii. Attracts pollinators and provides coverage for ground-feeding birds.
