Prairie Verbena Glandularia bipinnatifida
Also called Dakota mock vervain. A low trailing, semi-evergeen perennial with blooms in shades of pink and purple flowers, from spring through fall. This heat-loving verbena makes a goodxeric groundcover. Prairie verbena is short-lived but will readily reseed, and volunteers are easily transplated. Attracts butterflies.
Size: 6-12" tall x 1-2' wide
Growing Requirements
Full Sun, Part Shade
Tolerates oart shade. Requires a well-drained soil but otherwise adaptable and dislikes wet soil in winter. Drought tolerant but will bloom more with supplemental watering.
Culture & Care
Do not over-water. Benefits from deadheading; snip in mid summer to tidy it up and more blooming if desired.
