Penstemon, ‘Husker’s Red’ Penstemon digitalis
Foxglove Beardtoungue penstemon features semi-evergreen burgundy-tinted foliage with 3′ tall stems with white, tubular flowers in late spring and early summer. Attract bees, hummingbirds, and butterflies; seed-heads in fall winter feed songbirds. One of the few penstemons that can grow well in wet winters and hot, humid summers. Plant in group for visual appeal.
