Flame Acanthus Anisacanthus quadrifidus var. wrightii
Also known as hummingbird bush due to the profuse fiery red blooms that attract hummingbirds and also butterflies (larval host for Texas crescentspot). Blooms July through fall. Tolerant of hot and dry conditions once established.

Full Sun, Part Shade
Adapts to a variety of well-drained soils; does well in patio pots. Blooms best in full sun but will tolerate light shade.
Culture & Care
Can be sheared into a shrub. Prune in winter for more blooms and compact form. Cut back dead growth before spring.
