Fall Aster
A mounding, bushy perennial covered in showy purple flowers from September through the first frost, attractive to bees and butterflies.

Growing Requirements
Full Sun, Part Shade, Light Shade
Grows best in full sun but will tolerate some shade (though may become leggy in shadier locations). Very drought and heat tolerant once established. Prefers dry, well-draining soil.
Culture & Care
In late spring, cut back by one-third to one-half to encourage bushier form and more fall blooming. Leave dried foliage in place to provide cover for over-wintering birds. Late winter or early spring, prune back to reveal new growth. Can be divided once blooms die back.
Troubleshooting
Some cultivars may spread invasively via underground rhizomes but can be kept in check by cutting back.
