Autumn Sage Salvia greggii
A native Texas semi-evergreen shrub, blooming spring through frost. Small, tubular flowers in a variety of colors, most commonly red, attract hummingbirds and bees. Heat and drought tolerant once established. Grows well in borders and mass plantings.

Culture & Care
Do not fertilize. For more compact plant, prune twice a year: cut back in late winter/early spring to one third, removing dead wood, and again in July. For larger plant, only pick-prune. Generally disease and pest free.
Harvest
Flowers are edible and leaves can be used fresh or dried for seasonings and teas.
Varieties
Ultra-Violet
A hybrid cross between Salvia lycioides and Salvia greggii with deep violet-pink flowers, blooming spring through fall. Compact rounded form makes it ideal for front of the border or in a container. Grows 18-24″ tall; space 18-24: apart. Cold hardy.
Nuevo Leon
A smaller salvia greggi hybrid grows to about a 2′ mound with deep blue-purple flowers from spring through fall. Good for front of the border or container. Cold hardy.
Mirage Deep Purple
A compact variety growing about 12-14″ tall and 14-16″ wide. Lovely for gardens, containers, or in mass plantings. Remove spent flowers.
Blue Note
Long-blooming deep blue to purple flowers on dark stems. Compact bushy form, about 2′ x 18″ wide.
